Debut- St. Ansgar, Iowa

St. Ansgar, Home of the Albino Deer. We were lucky enough to set up our first ever booth kiddy corner from the Albino Deer Showcase and main street. Which was a double bonus because there was live music there too! It was a beautiful day and a great way to start our first booth, because that is my home town and my parents have everything we ever could have wanted in their garage: A Zima tent, rusty nails, tables, chairs, hammer, etc. All the things that we wouldn't have thought of before we were there. Another bonus of doing it in my parents town. A free babysitter!
A couple of weeks ago, Andy and I went on a bike ride where we found a "Free Pile" Not only did we find a mini wheel barrel for Josiah, our neighbor friend. But also two doors. So Andy and I painted them up to look oldish, with some crackle paint and used them to display some of our work. This was an Iowa City community tent. Jenni had some of her work (mixed-media, greeting cards, journals, etc. But also, our friend Vanessa made some Snowball Scarves. Andy and I worked on making the magnets on the right. The Iowa and ISU ones were sold out within the first hour! My first sale! Tim Halvorson, president of St. Ansgar Bank, purchased all my journals! He said "These would make great Christmas presents" There you go folks! Share the homemade goodness this Christmas! Support a local artist! I don't care if it's me or not, but what a way to encourage a local artist, as you shop for gifts!
